Welcome to the Women Welfare Foundation!
Message from the Founders
Hello from the Women Welfare Foundation!

When we started this journey, we shared a common vision: a Nepal where women and girls are not only heard but are leaders, decision-makers, and change-makers. We dreamed of a society where no woman is held back by her gender or circumstances—a place where every woman has the opportunity to thrive.
As co-founders, our paths to this moment have been different, but our mission has always been the same.
For Arpan, the journey began with years of experience at global institutions like the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI). Working internationally opened his eyes to the power of data-driven policies, research, and grassroots solutions to address some of the world's most pressing challenges, from poverty to climate change. But something was missing—his home. Despite being in rooms of influence, he felt the pull to return to Nepal and bring that global knowledge back to the communities that raised him. That decision changed everything.
For Garima, the passion for gender equality and community empowerment has always been deeply personal. Her work as a development practitioner in Nepal, advocating for women’s rights, education, and climate action, shaped her belief that real change comes when women are given the tools to lead and transform their own communities.
Together, we founded the Women Welfare Foundation with one belief at its core: empowered women empower the world. Since then, we have worked hand-in-hand with incredible women from across Nepal—those who face unimaginable challenges yet rise with resilience and strength.
Through our work, we’ve witnessed the power of education, the importance of economic independence, and the transformational impact of amplifying women’s voices. We’ve also seen that real change is only possible when communities come together—local knowledge, global skills, and unwavering determination.
This is more than an organization; it’s a movement—a movement for equality, opportunity, and a brighter, more inclusive Nepal.
Thank you for joining us on this journey. Together, we can continue to empower women, uplift communities, and build a future where no dream is out of reach.
